When we tell people we’re “from the Red Cross” we often times run into the question, “Oh, awesome…you mean the one in Washington, D.C.?” And while we love our national headquarters to the north, we also want to make sure our local communities know about the Red Cross down their street.
In our Palm Beaches-Treasure Coast Region, you can find a Red Cross office about every 20 minutes as you travel down the coastline…starting in Vero Beach, down to Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Jupiter, West Palm Beach and Boca Raton. And that isn’t even counting our wonderful offices to the west in Okeechobee, Belle Glade, Clewiston and LaBelle.
Not only do we have offices scattered around the area, you’ll find our staff and volunteers come from every which way too – like the staff member from Jensen Beach who works in West Palm Beach, or the volunteer from Jupiter who helps teach CPR classes in Port St. Lucie. Our cross-connectedness helps us to stay united in our mission, while also keeping relevant to the local communities we serve.
Look at this blog as our way of answering the questions we receive from people. We are from the Red Cross, the Red Cross in (Insert Your Neighborhood Here), and we are going to continue working to tell your story.
